NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME IS AN IMPORTANT FEATURE OF HIGHER EDUCATION This programme has been taken by the institute as an important and base programme since 1970, as it helps and strengthens the extension activities, which is the thrust area of the Institute. Regular activities of the N.S.S. includes :-
- Tree Plantation programme.
- Adult and Non-Formed Education Programme.
- Health and Hygiene Programme.
- Water Purification Programme.
- Blood grouping and donation programme.
- AIDS awareness programme.
- Arranging rallies, exhibitions and Nukkad plays for general awareness.
- Cash less transaction programme.
- Beti bachao rally
- Nukad natak
- Voter awareness program and rally
- Women’s day program
- Youth week program
- Participation in district level camp at Mhow
- Participation in state level camp at Sagar
- Participation in University level camp at Dharampuri
- Seven days special village NSS camp
Special Programmes of N.S.S. includes 10 days camp in the Rural areas. Theme of some of the special camps was:-
- Youth against famine.
- Youth against dust and diseases.
- Youth for tree plantation etc.
Institute has been recognized by the Human Resource development Ministry of India as the best unit. Institute received best Unit Award in the Silver Jubilee Year of N.S.S. 1993-94. It also received best Programme Officer Award in the same year.
